Pike peak dudhkunda trekking is newly opened trekking trail located in Everest region of Nepal. Pike peak dudhkunda trekking would be an ideal trek for those who want a taste of the Khumbu Himalayan region of Nepal. Dudh or milkey Kunda is well known pilgrimage sites of this trekking. Pike peak located just to the south of the Everest Trail we pass through authentic Sherpa villages. From the Linkhu Khola we steadily climb through terraced fields, then rhododendron and magnolia forest, friendly Sherpa hospitality and variety of wildlife like Himalayan Thars, Bears, Leopard, Jackal and Pheasants.. etc.
Pike peak dudhkunda trekking leads through the villages behind us and ascend further through hemlock firs to the cheese factory at Numbur. The following day the summit of Pike Peak offers an excellent view of the Rolwaling Himal, Everest and Makalu and others snow capped mountains such as Dablam, Thamserku, Kantega, Kusum Kangaru and Mera Peak. Have in mind that if you are beginners for trekking in Everest Himalayas, Pike peak dudhkunda trekking would be the right choice as it does not required any previous technical experiences and also renowned for its sunrise and sunset views.
Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan intl. airport our representative welcomes you and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu valley. After time to get refreshed, and briefing about your trip and overnight at Hotel.Day 2Drive to Jiri Bazaar (1,955m/6,393ft) 9 hours
On the First day, we drive to Jiri which is roughly about 220 km in front from Kathmandu. If you take a private vehicle / jeep than you can reach Jiri within 7 hours. The bus goes or follows through the Kodari road (connecting to friendship Tibet road) then turns off to Jiri & cross the Bhote kosi River which is one the most famous river for river rafting in Nepal. We cross the bridge of the river falling down from Tibet border. Over night at lodge in Jiri.Day 3 Trek to Shivalaya village, (1,750m/5,723ft), 5 hours.
we get up early in the morning; you will have breakfast at 8 AM in the Morning. After breakfast we start our walking with a climb to the ridge of top at 2,370m. Then walk down hill to get Shivalaya village. If you donot have enough time for trekking than you can take a direct bus from Kathmandu to Shivalaya. Stay overnight at Camp.Day 4 Trek to Deurali (2,705m/8,845ft), 5 hours.
We walk from Shivalaya and climb to Sangmudanda (2150M) After it we walk all the way up to Kharso bas (2500M) then to Deurali pass where we fixed our camp and visit to Thodung Buddhist Monastery at (3090M) and visit to yak cheese factory. Return to campsite Deurali. If the weather permits, you will have clear mountain views of Gaurishankar, Annapurna range and many other snow capped mountains in front. Stay overnight at Camp.Day 5 Trek to Namkhili (1,800m/5,886ft), 5 hours.
we walk start down to Bandar where is the Sherpa people settlement of big village and Buddhist monastery and all the way down to Rosi Khola ( Rosi River) and cross the Rosi river and start climb up to Chaulakahrka and have a lunch and climb up to namkhili at 1800M.from namkhili also you may have a chance to see some mountains views. Stay overnight at Camp.Day 6Trek to Ngawar Gumpa (3,350m/10,955ft, MONASTRY), 5 hours
At first we ascend up to Goli gumpa danda where we see Sherpa settlement and there is some Buddhist Monastery and all the way climb up to Ngawar Gumpa. We fix our campsite near by Buddhist Monastery and Cheese factory. Today you may have a more mountains views, beautiful landscapes and valley. As you walk through the rhododendrons forest, your trek would be more colorful if you are planning to walk on spring time. Stay overnight at Camp.Day 7Trek to Peke Peak Base Camp (3,730m/12,197ft), walking 3 hours
This day we will have a short camp we will be in Camp earlier than previous days. And you will have a rest for the acclimatization if the weather is nice then climb up to Pike Peak and back to camp site this day you will be walking through the rhododendrons forest and in the end of April and May there are really blooming of rhododendrons flowers. Stay overnight at Camp.Day 8Pike peak – a Destination day ! But camp at Japre 2870m
Early in the morning climb about 60 minutes to Pike peak to see sun rise over Himalayas. You will have an awesome Mountain view (especially on sun rise) of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Maklu, Kanchanjunga, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri these are the mountain of up to 8000m if the weather is good. Descend down hill to camp and have a break fast and start to walk on the ridge to Bulbule and trek to Japre old monastery located in Tapting village. This day you will be walking on the ridge on looking to mountains views and Blooming of rhododendrons. And this day will be long day as well. Stay overnight at CampDay 9Trek to Lapcha (GORAKHANI) village, 3 hours walking roughly
You walk through the ridge to Fhokte danda and you may have chance to keep the beautiful view of Mount Everest and then walk downhill to Chimding to Sisa to Lapcha village. Lapcha village is a big settlement of Tamang, Newar, Sherpa and Sunuwar these are the different of the cast of the peoples of Lapcha and there are more than 150 houses and their total population is roughly about 2,500. Stay overnight in Camp.Day 10This day you will have an acclimatization day
Today you will have a rest day for exploring around. You might visit the schools and the villages to see about their daily lives. In the evening but after Dinner, there will be cultural Dance performed by mother community.Day 11Trek to Pattale (2,840m/9,287ft), 5 hours
There is a local market where the local people use to go to buy daily needed things like Rice, vegetables, salt, chilly and many more things but it use to be on every Friday, and from there also you may have a chance to see Mountains views as well and this day you will be crossing by the local village where people usually works on field to grow Maize, Potato’s, Wheat many more as vegetables. Overnight at Campsite.Day 12Trek to Chyalsa Tibetan Settlement (2770m/9,058ft), 4 hours
Today the trail start to drop down to Salme khola. And climb up to Chyalsa Tibetan camp where we fix our camp site.Day 13Trek to Phaplu Bazzar (2,469m/8,074ft). 3 hours roughly walk
As we walk over the Ratnange danda ridge, you may have chance to see the mountain views to close to you and nice views of Dudkunda. Dudhkunda is commonly known as the pond of Milk. Today is the last day of the trek and camp at Phaplu near by airport and in the afternoon you may visit of the center district of Solukhumbu it is like small town and area call Salleri settlement of Newar peoples and there are government office of district as well. If you get there again you may have a chance to visit in the Saturday special local market of Salleri.Day 14Fly from Phaplu airport to Kathmandu
We board our early flight from Phaplu to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at TIA, we would be received by our representatives and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon, we go for shopping.Day 15 Kathmandu valley sightseeing.
After breakfast the day will start to our guided trip to cultural world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley; including visits to the pilgrimage sites of Hindus Pashupatinath temple, the world biggest Boudhanath Stupa, visit Swayambhunath Stupa also known as monkey temple and historical Kathmandu Durbar Square with temple, unique architectures and Kumari (living goddess) in central Kathmandu.Day 16Transfer to international airport for your final destination flight.
