Just about every angle is a tantalizing glimpse of Mt. Fishtail (6,993m,) Annapurna (8,091m) and Dhaulagiri (8,167) range on the initial part of the tour is breathtaking. On an excursion to Pun Hill you can see the entire mountain ranges; covering red and pink rays of the Sun in full bloom at the sunset and sunrise.

Ghorepani trek detail itinerary

Day 1Arrival day Kathmandu

Receive you in Kathmandu international airport. Then transfer to hotel by private car. If you have time, just couple of hrs time sightseeing around downtown Thamel.

Day 2 Fly to Pokhara. Drive to Nayapul then trek to Hile (1,490m/4,872ft.), 4 hrs

Meeting at your hotel around 7 AM morning, drive to airport to fly to Pokhara, takes about 25 minute flight journey. From Pokhara to Nayapul takes about 90 minutes of drive by private vehicle. Within short walk from Nayapool, you can cross suspension bridge and follow up the Modi river bank to Birethanti. At Birethanti there is a Annapurna conservation check post office where you need to show your trek permits before you enter to the conservation area. From there mountain trail leads through bamboo forest and passes a large waterfall-summing hole. The trail stays on the north bank of Bhurundi Khola to Bajagara. Beyond a pasture used by Pony caravans, the trail reaches Sudame then climbs steadily up through the valley reaching Hile village (1490m). Stay overnight at guest House.

Day 3 Trek from Hile to upper Ghorepani (2,860m/9,352ft.), 6 hrs

From Hile village, after a short walk the trail crosses a steam on suspension bridge and leads the climb very steeply on a stone staircase. It leads continuously steep up to the large village of Ulleri at 2,070m. From there one can see first eye catching mountain views of Annapurna south (7,219m), Himchuli (6,440m) and Fishtail (6,996m). After that, the trail leads through deep magnificent oak and Rhododendron forest up to upper Ghorepani (2860m), where you will have great sunset view in the evening. Stay overnight at guest House.

Day 4 Poonhill sunrise! Trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani (2,590m /8,469ft.) 6 hrs

At very early morning, you can hike about 90 minutes to reach on Poonhill (3210m), trail leads climbing very steeply on a stone staircase. Poonhill offers almost the best sunrise view over the breathe taking mountains and they are Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Annapurna III, Fishtail, Annapurna IV and Annapurna II from left to write accordingly. After Poonhill, you can continue your journey to Tadapani (2670m) passing some tiny villages through oak and Rhododendron forest. Stay overnight at guest House.

Day 5 Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk (1,940m /6,344ft.), 3 hrs

Trail leads to Ghandruk from Tadapani all the way of descends and flat through the oak and Rhododendron Forest. Ghandruk has a big Gurung settlements and is famous for thier Culture and their handicraft. Also you have a grand view of Annapurna south, Hiunchuli, Annapurna 3rd and as well as Fishtail. During the afternoon, you might visit the Gurung Museum. Stay overnight at guest House.

Day 6 Trek from Ghandrung to Nayapul (1070m.). Then drive to Pokhara

At the place of Ghandruk trail leads to Nayapul, the route almost descending and flat through the bank of Modi River and passes several villages such as Kimle, Shyauli Bazzar, and Birethani and comes Nayapul. Walking times takes about 5 hours, after Nayapul drive back to Pokhara. Stay overnight at Hotel.

Day 7 Drive back to Kathmandu or extend your trip on request.

After breakfast drive back to Kathmandu city or request us to extend your holiday. If you do not have enough time, you might also take a flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu paying an extra charge of airfare. Transfer to hotel for stay overnight.

Equipment checklist

The following listed equipment is suggested and essential for Tea house trekking and camping trekking in the Nepal Himalaya. Make sure that below list as a guideline proposal. Some of the Trekking equipment can be hired or bought in the many adventure shops in Kathmandu. The following basic equipment check lists should help you with your packing. Please remember that you should always try to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. At the start of the trek your packed trek bag should weigh not more than 33 pounds or 15 kg.
