Annapurna sanctuary trek detail itinerary

Day 1 Arrived at Kathmandu valley

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, Tribhuwan International Airport, we will receive you with private vehicle and transfer to hotel in Kathmandu within B/B plan. Our representative will give you information about Annapurna sanctuary trekking programs.

Day 2 Drive to Nayapool Bazzar via Pokhara city. Trek to Birethanti (1015 m), 8 hrs

At morning, our trekking staffs will pick you up at hotel and escort to the bus station. You will drive by the beautiful rivers Trisuli and Marsyangdi which is very popular for river rafting. Pokhara is very popular for the grand panoramic view of majestic Himalayas such as Annapurna, Machapuchare in the north, Dhaulagiri in the west, Lamjung Himal and Manaslu in the east. About 7 hours of driving by Bus, you will arrive at Nayappol Bazzar passing by Pokahara, beautiful city of caves, lakes, Buddhist and Hindus temples. As you arrive here, hike about forty five minutes further to get Birethanti village. Birethanti is a large village with many shops and guest houses. Stay overnight in Lodge.

Day 3 Trek to Chomrong village (2140m) 7 hours

From Birethanti bazzar, turn the right to Modi river bank than the trail continues through the flat cultivated lands, rice terraces, beautiful villages and small rivers we reach at Jhinu Hot spring. Then trail climbs steadily up the side of the valley to Chomrong village. Chomrong village is also a best place to get brilliant Himalayan view of Mt Annapurna south and Hiunchuli and the virgin peak Mount Fishtail (locally called Machhapuchhre). Chomrong is the biggest Gurung settlement of this route. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 4Chhomrong to Himalaya Hotel

Today, our journey goes often over the stone steps. We walk with stone step to descend down hill walking to Chomrong river, cross the river and ascend to Sinuwa village. As sinuwa located on the hill, there are two nice guest houses and from there you will have almost a great view of modi river valley. Than our journey goes with dense forest to bamboo place. Where there are some lodges and guest house too. On the way we will see the wildlife like wild boar, monkey, rhesus and other wild birds with including Danphe pheasant. Then arrival at Himalayan hotel where we stay overnight.

Day 5Himalaya hotel to Machapuchhare Base Camp

Today, we start to go over Deurali hill top and then walk further to get fish tail base camp. Fish tail is locally called Machhapuchhere in Nepal language. There are two different trails ahead of us; we follow the best way according to the season to Bagar and to MBC. These areas are most possibility for avalanches and always be careful during the journey. You should have good information from your experienced guide who is organizing by Gokyo Treks & Expedition, before you start your journey to MBC. Take it seriously because there are already a lot of people who lost their lives here from viewpoint to Bagar. After Bagar, you are safe.

Day 6Early in the morning to go to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m) & descend to Dovan

Hike towards to ABC (4095m) which is recognized as a Annapurna sanctuary. The trial follows the left hand tributary of the Modi khola. You can see the sunrise with natural Panoramic spectacular view from the view point of ABC. From here we can see Annapurna 1st, Annapurna south, Barah Shikhar, Tent peak, Machapuchhare Hiunchuli and many more snow caped mountains as well as glacier. Having breakfast in ABC, just descend down to Machapuchhare base camp. We can met the crew and taking all stuffs descend down to Dovan passing several green valley and villages. Stay overnight at Dovan

Day 7Dovan to Jhinu Hot spring

Trial descends to Jhinu Danda leads through bamboo and Rhododendron forest with superb mountain views from Sinuwa village. Have in mind, the trail from Dovan to Bomboo is most subject to avalanches so we recommend you to trek together with your entire team. Then trail leads down and up to stone steps to Chhomrung hill and again descend down hill to Jhinu Danda. Then we walk downhill to the bank of modi river again where we can enjoy with natural hot spring.

Day 8Jhinu Danda to Nayapul then drive to Pokhara

After breakfast, trek leads through bamboo and mixed forest. During the journey, you can pass through the several tiny villages, terraced and as well as flat land to Nayapool. If you are tired or if you don’t have enough time, you can also skip from Kyumi to Nayapool and take a Jeep / bus ride (however transportation cost extra). After checkout from Annapurna Conservation office, we trek further more 30 minutes to reach Nayapul where our car is waiting. Than we drive back to Pokhara Fewa lake side by car 1: 30 hrs. Transfer to hotel on Fewa lake side.

Day 9Drive to Kathmandu

Morning we’ll drive back through the scenic countryside and during the route will stop for breakfast & lunch. It takes 7 hours back to Kathmandu. On arrival at Kathmandu guide will transfer to the hotel and rest of the day relax or explore the surrounding areas and overnight at hotel.

Day 10Final departure day

Drop you in Kathmandu International Airport onward your final destination and our trip ends. Wish you your wonderful journey!!!

Equipment checklist

The following listed equipment is suggested and essential for Tea house trekking and camping trekking in the Nepal Himalaya. Make sure that below list as a guideline proposal. Some of the Trekking equipment can be hired or bought in the many adventure shops in Kathmandu. The following basic equipment check lists should help you with your packing. Please remember that you should always try to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. At the start of the trek your packed trek bag should weigh not more than 33 pounds or 15 kg.

Upper Body:
