Annapurna base camp trek detail itinerary

Day 1 Arrived at Kathmandu valley

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport, we will receive you with private vehicle and transfer to hotel in Kathmandu within Bed with Breakfast plan. Our representative will give you information about further programs.

Day 2 Full day Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley

Full day guided sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley tour including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Baudhanath Stupa and Swayambhunath Stupa also known as monkey temple which is World Heritage Sites listed by UNESCO.

Day 3 Drive (roughly 6 hours) or fly (roughly 25 minutes) to get Pokhara city

Better to take flight if you are visiting in Monsoon Season, takes only 25 minutes by flight than transfer to Hotel. In the afternoon, you will be with your Guide to observe the Natural Beautiful town of Fewa lakeside and its surroundings. However, if you are driving to Pokhara by Tourist bus or private car, It takes around 7 hours. During the journey, you will have beautiful landscapes on the way.

Day 4 Drive to Nayapool & trek to Tikhedhunga (1,577m/5,157ft), 5 hours

After having breakfast at the hotel we start our driving to Nayapul, takes about 1:30 hours. Then we conduct our journey to Tikhedhunga (1577M) Via Birethanti (1065m.). It is easy trekking passing through several small villages and settlements. Afterward we ascend gently to the final destination of the day. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 5 Trek to Upper Ghorepani (2,874m /9,429 ft) 6 hours

Today, we ascend steeply for the first 2 hours and then ascend gently passing through Ulleri (2070m.) and Banthanti. During the journey, you will see good view of Machhapuchhare known as mount Fish Tail (6997m.), mount Hiunchuli (6441m.) and as well as Annapurna (7219m) south. Now, our trail is quite easier passing through Rhododendron and shadowy trees and ascends gently up to the final camp at Ghorepani village. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 6Hike to Poonhill and trek to Tadapani (2,650m/8,665 ft.), 7 hours

Today very early in the morning, we hike together to Poon Hill (3232m.) to enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak (6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Machhapuchhare (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.) and other numerous snowcapped mountains in the morning then Hike down to Ghorepani, have a hot breakfast at Lodge and trek to Tadapani. Most part of the trail we trek through Rhododendron forest, the beautiful flower makes the jungle colorful in spring when they bloom. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 7Trek to Chomrong village (2,170m/7,096 ft), 6 hours

It is very easy trek by descending gently all the way through Rhododendron, oak and other kinds of dense forests. We will hear different kinds of birds chirping on the way to Kimrung Khola. Than ascend immediately steeply and walk at a level for 50 minutes and gently steeps and flat to Chomrong which is the only one gateway to reach Annapurna Base Camp / ABC trekking.

Day 8Chhomrong to Himalaya Hotel (2,873m/9,395ft), 7 hours

Today, we will our first step with stone step to the river Chomrong, cross the river and hike to Sinuwa village where, there are few lodges. Walking with dense forest to bamboo place. Where there are some lodges and guest house too. On the way we will see the wildlife like wild boar, monkey, rhesus and other wild birds with including Danphe pheasant. Then arrival at Himalayan hotel where we stay overnight.

Day 9Trek to Machapuchhare Base Camp (3,700m /12,135ft), 7 hours

Walk to Deurali viewpoint where you can observe the modi valley and then walk further to MBC. There are two different seasonable trails ahead of us; we follow the best way according to the season to Bagar and to MBC. These areas are most possibility for avalanches and always be careful during the journey. You should have good information from your experienced guide who is organizing by Gokyo Treks & Expedition, before you start your journey to Fishtail base camp. Take it seriously because there are already a lot of people who lost their lives here from viewpoint to Bagar. As you finished Bagar, you are on safe grassy trails to base camp.

Day 10Hike to get sunrise from Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,505 ft). Descend down to Dovan, 8 hours

Very early morning, just hike to abc without bag packs to get the sunrise view which takes about 2 hours ascending. The trek route follows the left-hand tributary of the Modi khola. You can see the sunrise with natural Panoramic spectacular view from the view point of ABC. From here we can see Annapurna 1st, Annapurna south, Barah Shikhar, Tent peak, Machapuchhare, Hiunchuli and many more snow caped mountains as well as glacier within 360 deg angle. Having breakfast in ABC, just descend down to Machapuchhare base camp, collects baggage, met the entire crew and taking all stuff descend down to Dovan passing several green valley and villages. Stay overnight at Dovan.

Day 11Trek to Jhinu Natural Hot spring (1,570m/5,134ft), 6 hours

The trail descends to Jhinu Danda leads through bamboo and Rhododendron forest with superb mountain views from Sinuwa village. Have in mind, the trail from Dovan to Bomboo is most subject to avalanches also. Then trail leads down and up to stone steps to Chhomrung village. And then descend down to Jhinu Danda where we can enjoy with natural hot spring in the banks of Modi River.

Day 12Trek to Nayapul. Drive to to Pokhara, 6 hours

After breakfast, trek leads through intermittent bamboo and mixed forest. During the journey, you can pass through the several villages, terraced and as well as flat land. You will have flat land from Syualibazar until Nayapool. After checkout from Annapurna Conservation office, we trek furthermore 30 minutes to reach Nayapul where our car is waiting. After that drive to Pokhara by car 1: 30 hrs then transfer to hotel on Fewa lakeside.

Day 13Drive to Kathmandu

Morning we’ll drive back through the scenic countryside and during the route will stop for breakfast & lunch. It takes 7 hours back to Kathmandu. On arrival at Kathmandu, guide will transfer to the hotel and rest of the day relax or explore the surrounding areas and overnight at the hotel.

Day 14Final departure day

Drop you in Kathmandu International Airport onward your final destination and our trip ends. Wish you your wonderful journey!!!

Equipment checklist

The following listed equipment is suggested and essential for Tea house trekking and camping trekking in the Nepal Himalaya. Make sure that below list as a guideline proposal. Some of the Trekking equipment can be hired or bought in the many adventure shops in Kathmandu. The following basic equipment checklists should help you with your packing. Please remember that you should always try to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. At the start of the trek, your packed trek bag should weigh not more than 33 pounds or 15 kg.
